While he first announced his decision in July, Kingsford senior Zach Person (front, center) made it official earlier this month by signing his letter of intent to play Division I football at the University of Toledo starting next fall. At a signing ceremony at Kingsford High School, Person was flanked by his parents Kurt and Ramona Person, while his brothers Kyle Person and Brad Person looked on. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Person was named to the all-class Dream Team by the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters at tight end/wide receiver, as well as the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association All-State first team in Division 5, as well as to the Great Northern Conference first team at wide receiver. Person also had Division I offers from New Mexico, Middle Tennessee State and Jacksonville State, and Division II schools Grand Valley State and Northern Michigan.
