Kingsford’s Nora named to GNC 1st team

KINGSFORD — Kingsford junior guard Nic Nora was named to the All-Great Northern Conference first team in a vote by league coaches Friday.
The Flivvers, who finished with a 2-6 record in the GNC and 12-0 in non-conference games, also had other players recognized by the league. Senior forward Brody Kopp was given special mention, while classmate Michael Meneguzzo was given honorable mention.
The GNC player of the year was Menominee senior Aidan Bellisle, while the league’s defensive player was senior Brady Badker, also of Menominee.
Joining Nora on the first team were Escanaba senior Colin Hudson, Menominee senior Cooper Conway and Marquette seniors Jonas Bicik and David Eberhard.
Menominee’s Sam Larson was selected as coach of the year. The Maroons won the conference title with an 8-0 record.
The Flivver JV team split the conference championship with Marquette. Both squads finished 6-2.
