HOUGHTON — The season might be over for the Norway varsity ski team, but the accolades keep rolling in.

Three Knight skiers were recently named to the All-U.P. Conference Ski Team, according to Norway coach John Bittinger.

“The prestigious All-U.P. Awards are earned throughout the season by adding slalom and giant slalom finishes together,” he said. “Qualifying for this is a recognition for the season-long consistent fast skiing combining both disciplines together.”

Norway’s Brooke Bittinger and Gabby Carey both earned All-UP First Team honors for a second consecutive year.

“Throughout the entire conference race season, the duo averaged just over a third-place finish with Carey at 3.2 and Bittinger at a 3.8 with neither racer failing to finish any conference race,” the coach added. “Both racers earned a victory during the season.”

Norway junior Maria Fornetti claimed an All-U.P. Second Team award with her pair of sixth-place results at the finals in Houghton on Feb. 24, placing her on the squad.

Starting at $3.50/week.
