Runsat, Shamion earn West Pac 1st-team honors

COVINGTON -- Iron Mountain senior forward Annslee Runsat and West Iron County sophomore guard Danica Shamion led area players on the 2021-22 All-West Pac Conference team as recently voted by a league coaches in a meeting held in Covington.
Runsat was named to the Iron Division's first team and Shamion was picked to the Copper Division's first team.
Two area players were given honorable mention -- Iron Mountain junior forward Chloe Maycroft and West Iron County junior guard Kali Harty.
Calumet senior Marybeth Halonen was voted as the league's player of the year, Hancock senior Sierrah Driscoll was named defensive player of the year and Calumet's Matt Laho was selected as coach of the year.
The league's dream team was comprised of Negaunee senior forward Alyssa Hill, Westwood senior forward Natalie Prophet, Houghton senior guard Paige Sleeman, Calumet senior guard Lana Loukus and Hancock junior guard Isabella Hebert.
