After a scoreless first inning in the opener, Kingsford (5-3-1) began to perk up in the second, scoring four times. The Flivvers then added six in the third and five more in the fourth to put an early end to the contest.
Freshman Maddy Kreider led the way offensively with two hits, four RBIs and two runs scored. Elaina Bortolini chipped in with two RBIs and two runs scored. Lexi DalSanto, Delaney Cram, Zoie Geronimi and Macy Holmes all drove in a run each, while Geronimi drew three walks and scored all three times.
Abby Terrian held the Copper Kings to just two hits over the four innings. The senior fanned six and did not surrender a walk.
In the nightcap, the Flivvers jumped on Calumet again with a run in the first and three more in the second.

But this time the Copper Kings responded, plating four runs in the top of the fourth to knot things at 4-all.
Nevertheless, Kingsford wasted no time in gaining the upper hand, putting up six in the bottom of the fourth. The Flivvers added three more in the fifth, and after Calumet pushed across a run in the top of the sixth, Kingsford ended the festivities with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
DalSanto led Kingsford’s nine-hit attack with two singles and four RBIs. McKenna Trulock ripped a double and drove in two, while Geronimi also knocked in two.
Cram recorded a pair of singles, while LaVarnway and Terrian scored three runs each.
Junior Holly Richer started in the circle in the finale, pitching two innings and striking out four. She was replaced in the third after suffering an apparent injury while batting by Terrian, who worked the final four innings and struck out five along the way in earning his second win of the day.
