Down 4-0 heading into the bottom of the third, the Flivvers scored 3 runs in the frame and then 3 more in the fifth to bypass the Mountaineers for the victory.
“It was a great game for fans to watch as there was excitement in every inning,” Kingsford coach Matt LaLonde said. “It started out as a great defensive battle as both pitchers and defensive players stymied the offenses for two shutout innings.
“The bats came alive for both teams once reaching the second rotation in the batting order. Hits, runs, and stolen bases added to the already exciting atmosphere.”
Gavin Trevillian topped Kingsford with a double, a single and two RBIs. Garrett Brown added a pair of singles for the Flivvers.

Iron Mountain took the early lead, sparked by Lucas Maxon, Beau Kralovec and Evan Haferkorn. Maxon went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored, Kralovec chipped in with 2 hits and an RBI and Haferkorn recorded a hit and a run driven in.
With the game tied at 5-all in the bottom of the fifth, Trevillian laid down a suicide squeeze bunt that brought home Andres Finley with what turned out to be the winning run.
Both pitchers went the distance in the game. Sawyer Pugh picked up the win for Kingsford, allowing 6 hits while fanning 3.
“Sawyer did a real nice job tonight on the mound for us,” LaLonde said. “He threw with confidence and energy.”
Carson McLean pitched all 6 innings for the Mountaineers, allowing 6 hits while striking out 5.
“McLean really pitched well for Iron Mountain,” LaLonde added. “He did not allow us many free bases and made us work for our runs.”

“Trent McLain had another gutsy performance on the mound for us against a quality conference opponent,” Florence coach Kris Johnson said.
Cole Sweig came on in the seventh and didn’t allow a hit or a run.
The Bobcats finished with 11 hits, led by two knocks each from McClain, Leffler, Joey Holstrom and Evan Johnson.
