Jets take off with season-opening win 76-0

IRONWOOD -- The North Central football team began its journey back to another title with a 76-0 win in Ironwood on Friday to open the season.

The defending champs poured on 26 points in the first quarter and 27 in the second for a 53-0 lead as the teams headed to the locker rooms.

The Jets (1-0) finished with 479 yards of total offense, 152 through the air and 327 on the ground.

North Central's Luke Gorzinski went 5-for-6 through the air, accumulating 125 yards and one touchdown. He also added 95 rushing yards on two attempts along with another touchdown.

Lane Gorzinski notched 47 on the ground and two touchdowns, and Andrew Webber finished with 41 and one touchdown. Elijah Gorzinski, Jordan Walters, Drew Allgeyer and Dillon Raab each notched one touchdown and 39, 27, 26 and six yards respectively.

Raab caught one pass for 35 yards, and Jacob Gorzinski finished with 32 on one reception.

Originally, North Central was scheduled to face Carney-Nadeau Sept. 1, but with the Wolves' varsity program on hold the game is to be determined.
