NIAGARA, Wis. — The Niagara Lady Badgers swept both Oneida Nation and Crivitz at its triangular girls varsity volleyball meet Tuesday at Niagara High School.
Niagara started out the day with a 3-0 victory (25-3, 25-10, 25-11) victory over Oneida Nation and then upended Crivitz 4-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 25-21) in the finale.
“Oneida is a developing team that will continue to improve,” Niagara coach Carol St. Arnauld said. “The match against Crivitz was full of intensity and hustle. Our consistent players did what they typically do and kept the ball in play. We also had some additional players step up tonight when we needed them most.
“That’s why volleyball is a team sport; every single player on the court has an opportunity to positively impact the match. This was a big (M&O) conference win for us, and we need to stay focused to finish strong. Super proud of the entire team.”
Morgan Borchardt led the Lady Badgers on the day statistically with 24 kills, 46 assists, 15 digs and nine aces. Mallory Sanicki posted 23 kills, nine digs, four assists, two blocks and an ace.

STEPHENSON — The bus ride home Tuesday night was a bit longer for the North Dickinson varsity volleyball team after getting swept 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 27-25) by host Stephenson.
After struggling in the first set, Nordics coach Taylor Johnson said her team rallied and played the Eagles tough, losing the next two sets by a total of just five points.
“There were just some little things we just couldn’t fix,” Johnson said. “(But) we played much better.
The Nordics are now 5-3 on the season.
Micah Lindholm helped lead the Nordics with four kills, nine digs and three blocks, with Jessica Harwath also having a solid, all-round performance that included two kills, three digs, two aces and one block. Aiden Hord chipped in with three kills, five digs and two blocks, as well as hitting 100% of her serves.
“They played very well up front,” Johnson said of her team’s effort. “They played good defense and prevented Stephenson from getting a lot more kills.”
