Blackhawks blank visiting Niagara 47-0
PORT EDWARDS, Wis. — The Niagara Badgers came home from Port Edwards empty-handed Friday night, as the host Blackhawks (2-0) dominated the varsity 8-player football clash 47-0.
Despite suffering a shutout loss, Niagara coach Sean McGrath said he was still pleased with his team’s overall effort.
“I was proud how our team kept competing and refused to quit,” McGrath said.
Quarterback Logan Weber tallied four completions on eight attempts for a total of 65 yards for the Badgers (1-1), with Christian Hedmark hauling in three of the passes for 58 yards.
Defensively, Aiden Colenso and Tommy Martin both helped lead the Badgers with five tackles.
Niagara will host Almond-Bancroft (0-2) on Friday, with the opening kickoff set for 7 p.m.
