IRON MOUNTAIN — Iron Mountain High School will celebrate its 2000 state football championship this weekend.

The team will attend Friday’s game between Calumet and the Mountaineers at Mountaineer Stadium and then will have a private event for players, coaches and families on Saturday at City Park. Friday’s game is set for a 6 p.m. kickoff.

The celebration recognizes the 20th reunion of the team, the event having been postponed the last two years because of COVID-19.

The 2000 champions, coached by Tom Wender, defeated Gobles 25-23 for the Division 7 title.
