FLORENCE, Wis. -- The Florence varsity volleyball team posted two sweeps this week -- a 25-8, 25-10, 25-6 victory at Goodman on Tuesday and a 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 decision over Lena on Thursday in Florence.
The Ladycats had been shorthanded heading into the week because of injury, but the team was healthy for the two victories.
Morgan Tomczak (nine kills) Kamdan Johnson (seven kills), Madison Johnson (20 assists) and Tyley Fyvie (11 aces) led the way in the win at Goodman.
Against Lena, Johnson and Tomczak each recorded 14 kills to lead the Florence attack. Bella Millan and Vicki Peterson had two blocks each, Johnson handed out 36 assists and Tomczak notched 13 digs.
"Now is the time to really start gelling, and we are getting there," Ladycats coach Teresa Chrisman said. "We have had to try new things and other girls have stepped up when needed and it has made us stronger.
"At the same time, tonight we missed too many serves and had too many unforced errors. We need to clean that up moving forward."
