Norway suffers 2nd tourney loss
GLADSTONE — The inaugural season for the Norway Vikings came to an end Friday.
The Vikings, who represent Norway American Legion Post 145, suffered their second defeat, 7-5, to the Hudson Hellcats in a second-round matchup of the Michigan Class “A” American Legion Baseball State Championships in Gladstone.
The loss knocks Norway (17-8) out of the double-elimination tournament, which is slated to continue through Sunday.
The Trenton Steel, the defending state champs representing American Legion Post 426, handed the Vikings their first loss, 7-0, in an opening round clash on Thursday.
