Play it again: Norway’s 11-5 win sets up LL rematch
NORWAY — The rematch is set.
Norway battled its way to get a second shot at Kingsford by beating Gladstone 11-5 in the Michigan District 10 Little League All-Stars tournament at Marion Park in Norway on Monday afternoon, despite incoming rains and thunderstorms.
Kingsford is the tournament’s only undefeated team, sporting a perfect 2-0 record going into what could be the championship game for the double-elimination event. That’s because Kingsford has already defeated Norway (2-1) once, topping the host team 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Gladstone (1-2) joins Iron Mountain (1-2) and Escanaba (0-2) in getting knocked out of the tournament after Monday’s loss to Norway.
Norway will now try to hand Kingsford its first lost of the All-Star event at 5:30 p.m. today. A win by Norway would force a third and final matchup between the two rivals at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
