Badgers drop conference game to Crivitz

CRIVITZ, Wis. — The Niagara boys basketball team had a chance to gain a game in the Marinette & Oconto Conference standings on Thursday as the Badgers faced off with Crivitz at Crivitz High School.

However, the Badgers couldn’t topple the top-ranked team in the conference as the Wolverines grabbed a 65-39 win.

Niagara recorded two 3-pointers in the first half but Crivitz outscored the Badgers by 20 points in the frame and took a 41-21 lead into halftime.

Junior Tommy Martin scored 10 points in the second half as Niagara found its footing offensively.

The Wolverines lead, however, was too much for Niagara to overcome in the end.

Martin led the Badgers with 13 points.

Niagara also received contributions from Alex Tripp (2 points), Aiden Sweig (1 point), Blake Holmes (12 points), and Cameron Schiefelbein (11 points).

The Badgers are at home on Monday against Oneida Nation at 7:15 p.m.
