Norway Speedway makes changes to handicap parking

NORWAY — With the 2024 racing season at Norway Speedway set to begin on Memorial Day weekend, changes are coming to the Dickinson County Fairgrounds parking lot, specifically the handicap parking spaces.

Instead of parking and entering at the south end of the speedway, they are going back to having people park and enter at the north end of the grandstand.

Fair Board president John Degenaer said, “This will be the shortest and safest possible walking distance for our Friday night racing fans that have the legal up to date handicap parking permit.”

Degenaer also said the permit must be on the rear-view mirror or license plate and coincide with the number on the driver’s personal driver’s license.

Norway Speedway will have security at the gate monitoring all traffic. This new system is going to require a separate walking path that Fair Board representative Tom Bedard will have marked off for racing fans safety.

The walking path will go down the sidewalk in front of Legends Row Souvenir stand. It will be well lit and marked off.

If anyone has any questions pertaining to the new arrangement, please contact John Ostermann by phone at 906-361-0597 or by email at ostermannjohn@hotmail.com.

Starting at $3.50/week.
