Three Badgers named to M&O softball first team

NIAGARA, Wis. — After a strong 2024 campaign, the Niagara varsity softball team was well represented in the Marinette & Oconto Conference All-Conference awards when they were released on Friday.

Senior Emma Broullire was named to the All-Conference first team as a catcher. She ended the season with 13 RBIs at the plate. She also drew three walks and stole nine bases.

Broullire was joined on the first team by Badgers’ senior infielder Aiva Champeau and junior outfielder Mallory Sanicki.

Champeau led Niagara with 17 RBIs while maintaining a .462 batting average. She also drew 11 walks and stole five bases. Sanicki was third on the team in RBIs with 12. She stole six bases and drew eight walks.

Badgers’ sophomore pitcher Elesia Sweig was named to the second team. She recorded 78 strikeouts on the year.

Niagara freshman infielder Bristol Sanicki was also nominated to the second team. She had four RBIs on the season while drawing nine walks and stealing four bases.
