With West Iron, Luther L. Wright, Escanaba, Kingsford and Iron Mountain in attendance, the Flivvers finished second behind the Eskymos.
“It was a great day at the KHS Invite,” Flivvers head coach Tracy Rutter said. “Regardless of winning or not, I am beyond proud of the girls.
“I have to give a special thanks to Katy Hicks and Alec Shanks for helping to make sure everything ran smoothly.”

“Kylee Woodward hasn’t played a varsity match this season,” Rutter said, “to be thrown in at the last minute and take second is something to be very proud of. She is a freshman, very eager to learn and win. I am excited for her future with the team.”
The Flivvers’ No. 1 doubles pairing, Audrey Veale and Libby Vross also ended the day in second place. They picked up wins over Iron Mountain’s Veronica Stanchina and Betsy Vanegas (6-2, 6-2), Luther L. “No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles are looking forward to a rematch with Escanaba on Thursday,” Rutter said. “They are very equal, I am confident the girls will get the wins they have fallen short on.”
