KINGSFORD — As quickly as it started, the 2024 regular season campaign ended for the Kingsford girls varsity tennis team on Monday at Kingsford High School as it rolled to an 8-0 victory over Norway.

Now, the Flivvers turn their attention to the Division 1 U.P. Finals and a trip to Escanaba while the Knights are back in Kingsford for the Division 2 U.P. Finals. Both events are being played today.

“(It) was the last match at (Kingsford High School) for the seniors,” Kingsford head coach Tracy Rutter said. “It’s hard to believe we are already down to U.P.’s. Time flies when you’re having fun.

“This year has been a blast. With having 34 girls, you’d think there’d be issues, but it’s been anything but that. The days might be long but time goes so fast.”

Aubrie Moore has dominated No. 1 singles flights for much of her freshman season with the Flivvers. Moore continued that trend on Monday, beating Norway’s Jordyn Moln 6-0, 6-0.

Kingsford’s Abby Przeslakowski picked up the win over Ella Wojtowicz, 6-2, 6-0, in the No. 2 singles flight while Aubrey Phillips rolled to a 6-1, 6-0, victory over Tori Trudeau in No. 3 singles.

In the No. 4 singles flight, Maddy Zeuske toppled the Knights’ Jessa Rossler, 6-0, 6-3.

The Flivvers were dominated in the doubles flights as well.

In No. 1 doubles, seniors Audrey Veale and Libby Vross ended their time on the Kingsford High School courts with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Norway’s Kara Stanchina and Mary Cavagnetto.

Addy Kriegl and Eden Janousek dominated in the No. 2 doubles flight, beating the Knights’ Emma Dube and Sadie Powell, 6-2, 6-0.

In the No. 3 flight, the Flivvers’ Addison Paternoster and Madalynn Sleik defeated Emily Carlson and Myah Gilroy, 6-1, 6-0 while Kingsford’s Adyson Shogren and Alaysa Bacon toppled Marisa Pipp and Marley Bladerson, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 4 doubles.
