Anderson winding up senior year at Division 1 USI

Sunday is Senior Day for Division 1 baseball at the University of Southern Indiana and an Iron Mountain athlete will be among the honorees.
Ian Anderson, a right-handed pitcher, has appeared in 20 games for the Eagles, posting a record of 3-1. His ERA is 5.40 in 33.1 innings pitched with 33 strikeouts and 19 walks.
Anderson came to USI from Middle Tennessee State University after the 2024 season.
He is a 2021 graduate of Iron Mountain High School. He also played one season at Catawba Valley Community College, where he had a 1-1 record and a 3.62 ERA in 2023. Anderson appeared in nine games the previous season at Bryant & Stratton College.
USI is opening a three-game home series tonight against Ohio Valley Conference foe Southeast Missouri State University. The Eagles enter the series with an overall record of 22-26 and a conference record of 10-11.
Anderson threw a scoreless ninth inning to get his third save of the year on Wednesday as USI defeated the University of Evansville 7-5. Anderson faced four batters in the ninth, giving up one hit.
Sunday’s Senior Day game against SEMO in Evansville, Ind., is at 1 p.m.
