Kade Larson smacked a two-run double to spark a five-run second inning as Florence went on to post an 8-1 victory over Laona/Wabeno in a Northern Lakes Conference tussle Tuesday.

Matthew Smith added a two-RBI single in the top of the second as the Bobcats built a lead they never relinquished.

The host Rebels scored a run in the bottom of the second, but that was all they’d get against Florence starter Trent McLain and reliever Mason Koski.

Larson, McLain and Bradley Steber provided insurance in the seventh with a single RBI each.

McLain got the start and earned the victory, going five innings and allowing six hits, an earned run and two walks while striking out seven.

Koski worked the final two innings and allowed one hit while fanning four.
