Flivvers reach district final

CHEBOYGAN — Kylee Woodward kept a clean sheet and Kingsford defeated host Cheboygan 2-0 in a MHSAA Division 2 District 33 semifinal match Tuesday at Cheboygan.
“Kylee Woodward did a great job at not letting any balls in our net,” Kingsford coach Jenette Gunville said.
Sophia Tappy and Audrie Moore netted one goal each in the victory. Tappy scored an unassisted goal into the top corner of the net after her penetrating dribble drive into the Cheboygan defensive third.
Aubrie Moore sent a penalty kick past the Chiefs’ goalkeeper for the other Kingsford tally.
With the victory, the Flivvers (9-3-0) move on to face Boyne City (10-7-1) in Saturday’s district final. The match will be played at the Boyne Mountain Sports Complex in Boyne City.
