Kingsford names MVPs

Gavin Grondin was named as the male athlete of the year and Madelynn Kreider the female athlete of the year at Kingsford High School’s annual awards banquet Tuesday.
KINGSFORD – Kingsford High School named its 2024-25 most valuable athletes Tuesday evening at its annual awards banquet.
Overall, Gavin Grondin was named as the male athlete of the year and Madelynn Kreider was picked as the female athlete of the year.
Kreider was also named the MHSAA scholar athlete of the year. Gavin Trevillian was the MHSAA scholar athlete of the year finalist.
Fall most valuable players included Andres Finley (football), Audrey Veale (girls tennis), Iona Shilton (girls cross country), Reed DeGroot (boys cross country), Jaxon Buckley (boys soccer), Kreider (volleyball) and Ava Okler (cheer).
Winter most valuable players included Grondin (boys basketball), Aubrie Moore (girls basketball), Gavin Moore (hockey), Tegan Ray (wrestling), Sofia Ruesch (skiing), Blake Flaminio (boys bowling) and Chloe Roell (girls bowling).
Spring most valuable players included Kreider (girls track), Kaleb Fornetti (boys track), Gavin Moore (boys tennis) and Anna Bortolini (softball).
Most valuable players in girls golf, boys golf, girls soccer and baseball have yet to be determined.
Three-sport season athletes included Bortolini, DeGroot, Finley, Grondin, Shilton, Trevillian, Jacob Crockford, Nolan Hendrickson, Addisyn Kriegl, Gavin Moore, Abigail Przeslakowski, Morgan Sleik, Kailey Sundquist and Mason Tappy.
