Felch to host Junior baseball championship

FELCH — Michigan Veterans Baseball action will take place in Felch starting Friday.

Five Upper Peninsula Junior teams ages 15 and under will compete in a three-day double-elimination championship tournament.

The opener is set for 10 a.m. Friday at Felch Memorial Field as South Central takes on Norway. At noon, Gwinn will face the Sault Ste. Marie Black Sox.

The 2 p.m. game on Friday has Marquette Post 44 taking on the winner of South Central vs. Norway. A loser’s bracket game will follow at 4 p.m.

Four games are scheduled Saturday with the first at 10 a.m. and the fourth at 4 p.m.

The championship game is set for 11 a.m. Sunday. If the team from the loser’s bracket wins, a final title game will follow at 1 p.m.

Concessions will be available throughout the tournament, including brats, burgers and fries.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults for the entire weekend, or $5 per day. Admission is free for ages 12 and under.

Proceeds will go to the North Dickinson High School Junior Class and the South Central 15U and 19U baseball teams.
