IRON MOUNTAIN — The Michigan Bocce state championship will be decided Saturday at Iron Mountain City Park.

About 15 three-person teams are expected for the event, which gets underway at 9 a.m. at the Ray Mariucci Bocce Courts. The competition will continue into the late afternoon.

In 2023, when the event was held at City Park, Mike Constantini, Joe Fittante and Mike Cimarelli became the first team from the Upper Peninsula to earn the state title.

A U.P. repeat wasn’t in the works at Sylvan Lake in 2024, but teams from the host Dickinson Area Bocce Association along with several from Iron County will be among the contenders Saturday.
