Tee ball program introduces area youngsters to baseball

IRON MOUNTAIN — Little League organizations in the Dickinson County area have teamed up for the 2025 tee ball season.

A nine-week program started in July with Iron Mountain Area Little League and Kingsford Area Little League combining to create 11 teams — seven from the Kingsford area and four from the Iron Mountain area.

The program was started in hopes to spark more interest in the sport. Games are on Monday and Wednesday at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Team sponsors include: J.H. Zawada Construction, Culver’s, Mande Insurance and Investment, R&A Outdoor Services, First Bank, Liuna Laborers Union, UP Maintenance, Classic Carpet Care &Restoration, Coleman Engineering, Blue Dillo and Bacco Construction.

Tee ball is a baseball game modified for young children where the ball is hit off a tee.
