Nordics use big second quarter in road win
RUDYARD — Brady Jungwirth threw a touchdown pass, while Jason Graham and Spencer Kramer added TD runs as the North Dickinson Nordics scored 22 points in the second quarter en route to a 52-7 triumph over host Rudyard in a non-conference matchup Friday night.
Graham opened the scoring in the first period on a 10-yard scamper before Jungwirth hit Trenton Kramer for the 2-point conversion.
Graham started the scoring in the second quarter with a 1-yard TD before Jungwirth found Trenton Kramer for a 17-yard touchdown and added a 2-point run. Spencer Kramer recorded a 4-yard run and a 2-point conversion as ND took control.
Jungwirth threw his second touchdown pass of the contest in the third period, a 49-yarder to Trenton Kramer. He then showed his running prowess on the 2-point conversion and on a 10-yard rushing TD in the fourth.
Colton Roberts closed out the scoring for ND with a 4-yard burst. Jungwirth added the conversion run.
Jungwirth finished 12 of 18 passing for 216 yards. Graham led the Nordics with 101 yards as ND rolled up 401 yards of total offense.
Spence Kramer and Ty King led the defense with 12 and 11 tackles, respectively. Kramer added an interception and King recorded a sack.
Roberts also played well defensively, adding three sacks and nine tackles.
Next up for the Nordics (2-0) is a home game against rival Forest Park (1-1) on Friday.
