Norway is the new No. 1 in UPSSA poll
Norway has taken over the top spot in the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters eight-player prep football poll after a 44-6 road win Friday against previously unbeaten Pickford.
The Knights, 5-0 overall, will host Ishpeming (2-3) on Friday at Ronberg Field.
Gogebic, also 5-0, holds the second spot in the U.P. poll, as the Knights garnered all five first-place votes. North Dickinson, 3-0, was tabbed at third while previous No. 1 Pickford slipped to fourth.
Menominee gained the top spot in the 11-player poll following a 56-12 win over Houghton. Escanaba, the previous No. 1, defeated Cheboygan 42-13 on Friday. Both the Maroons and Eskymos are 5-0.
Kingsford, 4-1, is No. 3, with its only loss coming against Escanaba.
