Escanaba, Norway lead UPSAA rankings

Escanaba is back on top of the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association’s 11-player prep football poll after a 38-20 win Friday over Marquette.
It marked the Eskymos’ first win over the Sentinels in eight years. Escanaba (6-0) will host undefeated Gaylord on Friday as the two teams battle for the Big North Conference title.
Menominee (6-0) holds the No. 2 spot in 11-player after a 61-6 win over Gladstone. Kingsford (5-1) retained the No. 3 position after a 41-0 drubbing of Hancock.
In the eight-player poll, Norway (6-0) still leads the way after a 44-24 win over Ishpeming. No. 2 Gogebic and No. 3 North Dickinson are also 6-0.
