Flivvers to play for district crown

Kingsford will travel to Elk Rapids today to play for the Division 3 soccer championship in District 33.
The Flivvers advanced the district final with a 4-1 win Wednesday against Grayling at Flivver Field. Elk Rapids won its semifinal 4-0 at home against Houghton.
The winner of today’s match advances to the regional semifinals Tuesday at Clare High School.
Kingsford stands at 14-5-1 on the season, while Elk Rapids is 17-2-3.
In 2024, Elk Rapids defeated Kingsford 4-0 to earn a regional championship. The Elks finished as state runner-up in Division 3, falling 3-2 to Pontiac Notre Dame Prep in the state championship game.
