Division 4 Forest Park came out the winner in a quadrangular volleyball meet hosted by Kingsford on Saturday.

“It was a great day of competitive volleyball,” said Forest Park coach Bobbie Anderson. “Playing three matches back-to-back pushed the girls physically and mentally, but they rose to the challenge.”

The Trojans started the day with a 25-12, 25-11, 25-21 win over Division 3 Calumet.

Division 2 Kingsford was next, with Forest Park prevailing 25-14, 25-14, 25-21.

In the final match against Division 1 Marquette, the Trojans finished strong with a 25-12, 25-14, 25-14 victory.

“We’ve been looking forward to facing these strong teams and seeing how we measure up against some of the best in the U.P.,” Anderson said. “I’m incredibly proud of our team’s performance.”

Anderson credited her squad for maintaining their momentum throughout the day.

“We played aggressively, and did an excellent job finding and attacking the gaps in our opponents’ defenses,” said. “We moved the ball well and were able to involve all of our hitters, keeping our offense dynamic and effective,” she added.

Starting at $3.50/week.
