MHSAA volleyball action starts Monday

The Michigan High School Athletic Association volleyball tournament gets underway next week, with Norway, North Dickinson, and Forest Park all hosting matches Wednesday.

North Central is at home Monday, while Iron Mountain travels Monday to Bark River-Harris. Kingsford and West Iron are on the road Wednesday.

Division 4, District 99

Norway will host the winner of Monday’s Hannahville vs. Carney-Nadeau match at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

In the same district, North Dickinson hosts the winner of Monday’s Stephenson vs. North Central match, also at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Norway, if the Knights advance, will be the host for Thursday’s district final at 6 p.m.

Division 4 District 97

Forest Park is the host throughout the district tournament. The Trojans play the winner of Monday’s Bessemer vs. Ewen-Trout Creek match at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Other matches have Ontonagon facing Watersmeet on Monday, with the winner playing Wakefield-Marenisco at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The district title will be decided at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Division 3, District 66

Iron Mountain plays at Bark-River Harris at 6 p.m. Monday. The winner moves on to play at Gwinn on Wednesday.

Manistique and Menominee also square off Wednesday and the district final is Thursday. Gwinn will be the host for the final, unless the Modeltowners are eliminated.

Division 3, District 65

West Iron plays at Calumet at 6 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday. The winner advances to the district championship Thursday.

Other teams in the district are Ironwood, Westwood and Painesdale Jeffers. Ironwood, if it advances, will host the final.

Division 2, District 33

Kingsford plays at Houghton at 6 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday. Escanaba and Gladstone will meet Monday, with the winner advancing to play at Negaunee on Wednesday.

The championship is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, with Kingsford likely the host if it advances.
