Florence sophomore Kelsi Chrisman was unanimously selected to the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association Division 5 all-state first team after helping lead the LadyCats to their first appearance at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association state tournament.

Chrisman, a setter/outside hitter, was also picked to the WVCA Division 5 all-tournament team for her play in the LadyCats’ 3-0 semifinal defeat to Wausau Newman Catholic on Nov. 6 at the Resch Center in Green Bay. Chrisman finished that match with a team-high 10 kills, nine digs, eight assists and one assisted block.

On the year, Chrisman amassed 328 kills, 429 assists, 380 digs, 70 aces with a 95% serving percentage and 16 blocks.

Three other LadyCats were honored with all-state recognition as well. Miley VanDenHeuvel, Ashlyn VanDenHeuvel and Sami Demuri were all given honorable mention on the D5 team.

“Getting to the big stage put all these girls in the spotlight and they each deserve all the recognition they are getting,” coach Teresa Chrisman said. “Couldn’t be prouder.”
