Forest Park volleyball will travel to L’Anse to face Hancock in an MHSAA Division 4 regional semifinal at 7 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday.
The Trojans captured their fourth straight district title Thursday with a 3-0 win over Wakefield-Marenisco. A win Tuesday would send Forest Park (39-1) into the regional final against Norway (18-8-2) or Ishpeming (22-5-2).
“Everyone contributed and played their hearts out,” coach Bobbie Anderson said of Forest Park’s district triumph. “I’m beyond proud of their effort, commitment, and the way they’ve grown together as a team.”
The Trojans won 25-10, 25-15, 25-22.
“The third set started off a bit slow, and credit goes to Wakefield for battling hard and refusing to back down,” Anderson said. “Still, our girls showed true determination, rallying from a seven-point deficit to win the set and complete the sweep.”
Hancock comes into the regional tournament with a record of 26-4-2. One of its four losses came Sept. 13 against Forest Park in the championship match of a tournament hosted by Gladstone.
