FELCH TOWNSHIP — Jason Graham rushed for three touchdowns and 143 yards to power the North Dickinson Nordics to a 40-22 victory over St. Ignace in an MHSAA eight-player Division 2 regional opener Friday at NDHS.

Graham got things rolling for the Nordics (10-0) with a 1-yard TD run in the first quarter. Brady Jungwirth then hit Trent Kramer for the 2-point conversion.

Before the first quarter finished, Graham added a 3-yard rushing TD and caught a 2-point pass from Jungwirth to help give ND a 16-14 lead over the Saints (6-4) after 12 minutes.

The Nordics broke free from St. Ignace in the second period with a pair of touchdowns and 2-point conversions. First, Graham notched his third TD of the evening on a 3-yard run followed by a conversion run by Jungwirth.

Later in the quarter, Jungwirth fired an 8-yard scoring strike to Ty King and connected with Graham on the conversion as the Nordics built a 32-14 lead at the break.

The Saints pulled within 32-22 on a TD and 2-point conversion in the third quarter, but the Nordics put the game away in the fourth when Kramer ran in from the 1-yard line and then caught the 2-point pass from Jungwirth.

Jungwirth accounted for 191 total yards with 100 yards rushing on 13 carries and 91 yards passing on 13 of 18 attempts.
