Nordics sweep conference FB awards

North Dickinson swept top football honors in the Great Lakes Eight Central Conference.
Quarterback Brady Jungwirth was selected Offensive Player of the Year and Jason Graham earned Defensive Player of the Year.
The Nordics were also named Team of the Year, with coach Mike Christian tabbed as Coach of the Year. North Dickinson’s Colten Roberts was named the conference’s top hybrid.
North Dickinson’s first-team selections on offense were Trenton Kramer, receiver; Richard Haney, center; Andrew Larson, offensive line; and Graham, running back.
Ty King landed a spot on the first team as a defensive lineman and Tyler Fleming was named at defensive back.
Second-team picks were Toby Fleming, defensive back; Sam Depotie, defensive line; Tyler Fleming, running back; and Nathan Conery, offensive line.
Spencer Kramer received an honorable mention nod.
North Dickinson captured the conference championship with a 4-0 record, including a 64-38 win over Rapid River, a 60-36 win over Stephenson, a 42-14 win over Brimley and a forfeit against Carney-Nadeau.
In the MHSAA Division 2 playoffs, the Nordics will host Lake Linden-Hubell at noon Saturday in a regional final.
