Bobcats nip Gibraltar
Three Florence hoopsters scored in double figures as the Bobcats cracked the win column with a 60-59 triumph Saturday at Gibraltar.
“It’s been a rough start to the season and it felt good getting back to the winning side of things,” said Florence coach Bryan Bomberg. “Our team got down by double digits and we fought our way back.
“I’m so proud of our resilience; we got defensive stops when we needed it and the results showed,” Bomberg added.
Bowen Spears led the Bobcats with 24 points. Truth Setner added 19 and Carson Chrisman netted 13. Bradley Steber rounded out the offense with three points.
The Bobcats drained eight three-pointers — including four by Spears — but went just six of 17 from the free throw line.
Kayin Jackson led the Vikings with 36 points.
Florence (1-3) plays at Ewen-Trout Creek on Thursday.
