Knights lock down Jets for 3rd straight

NORWAY – The Norway Knights held visiting North Central to one point in the second quarter and built a 25-point cushion by halftime on their way to their third consecutive win, a 66-23 triumph over the Jets in a Skyline Central Conference matchup Thursday.

The Knights held the Jets to just nine field goals in the game, while lowering its points allowed per game to 40.8.

Norway’s offense was on the mark as well, scorching the nets for 22 points in the opening eight minutes, 36 by halftime and 57 through three quarters.

Anthony Pineda continued to shoot well, sinking three 3-pointerrs in the first quarter on his way to a team-high 17 points. Kaleb Lapine started with a bang as well, tallying seven in the first period and finishing with 13.

Two other Knights hit double figures – Noah Pearson with 11 and Elliott Kraemer with 10. Hunter Langin contributed eight and Luke Lagina chipped in with seven.

No North Central player scored more than five points as the Jets dropped to 1-5.

Norway was scheduled to host Rapid River (2-3) on Friday.
