Knights skiers compete in second conference event

HOUGHTON – The Norway Knights traveled to Houghton on Tuesday to compete in their second conference meet of the season, this one held at Mont Ripley.

Houghton, Marquette and Ironwood also skied in the event.

The Knight girls finished second after the slalom and giant slalom races, while the Knight boys placed third after the two races.

For the Knight girls, Sophia Fornetti finished fifth in the slalom, Sofia Wentarmini raced to a career-best sixth place in the slalom, Annika Hill finished eighth in the slalom, Abby Hoy finished ninth in the slalom and seventh in the giant slalom, Ingrid Holt finished 13th in the slalom and eighth in the giant slalom and Arianna Fornetti finished 14th in the slalom.

For the Norway boys, Skyler St. John placed ninth in the slalom and seventh in the giant slalom, Levi Caruso placed seventh in the slalom, Kieran Hempel placed 10th in the slalom and Conor Smith placed ninth in the giant slalom.
