Mountaineers spread the wealth in win over Gwinn

IRON MOUNTAIN – Eight Iron Mountain players scored and four reached double figures in the Mountaineers’ 62-15 drubbing of Gwinn in a West Pac Conference-East game on Wednesday at Mountaineer Gym.
Lane Wender paced Iron Mountain (7-7, 3-2) with 13 points. Quinton Doty and Charles Baldridge added 12 each and Brayden Kassin finished with 11.
Kevin Sgrecci chipped in with seven, Jacqui Smith scored four, Charles Anderson had two and Marcus Lindgren added a free throw.
Iron Mountain blew out to a 22-2 lead after the first quarter and then extended that advantage to 39-8 at halftime.
The Mountaineers held the Modeltowners (0-12, 0-5) scoreless in the third before Gwinn scored nine points in the fourth.
With the win, Iron Mountain remains in a tie for second in the West Pac-East with Negaunee. Westwood remains on top of the league with a three-game lead.
Iron Mountain is scheduled to host Ishpeming (7-5, 2-3) in a conference matchup tonight.
