Niagara girls capture holiday tournament title
CARNEY – Sydney Swanson scored 10 of her game-high 18 points during the decisive second quarter as the Niagara Lady Badgers beat Rapid River 47-21 Wednesday to win the Carney-Nadeau Holiday Tournament.
Niagara put the game away early with an 18-2 run in the second quarter to build a 24-4 advantage at halftime.
Alivia Kleikamp finished with 12 points and Bristol Sanicki added nine for Niagara (5-4), which defeated the host Wolves on the first day of the tournament.
Kaylee Tyler led the Rockets (2-3) with seven points and Julie Poma chipped in with six.

CARNEY – Alivia Kleikamp scored 21 points and Sydney Swanson posted 14 to lead Niagara on Tuesday.
Kleikamp rang up 15 points in the first half as Niagara (4-4) built a 28-14 lead at the break. Swanson scored nine of her points in the second half to help her team pull away.
Elesia Sweig sank both of Niagara’s 3-point shots and finished with eight points. Bristol Sanicki added seven, Jaelyn Kleikamp recorded five and Lexi Johnson chipped in two.
Jayden Laurin paced the Wolves (2-3) with nine points.
