Nordics use big 2nd quarter to beat Badgers

FELCH TOWNSHIP – Trent Kramer scored nine of his game-high 26 points in the second quarter as North Dickinson pulled away to a 23-point lead at halftime en route to a 66-41 decision over Niagara on Tuesday at Carl F. Lemin Gymnasium.

North Dickinson (3-1) held a 16-10 lead after the opening quarter before outscoring the Badgers 22-5 in the second to build a 38-15 advantage at intermission.

The Nordics added five points to their lead in the third quarter, which ended with ND up 57-29.

Ty King scored 10 points and hauled down nine rebounds for the winners. Brady Jungwirth added eight points, eight assists and four steals, Jason Graham posted seven points, four assists and four steals and Mason Florenski finished with seven points and four rebounds.

Kramer added five rebounds in the victory.

Zane Phillips paced Niagara (3-3) with 19 points, which included five 3-pointers. Brayden Bartels chipped in with 11 points.

The Nordics are back in action tonight when they host Bessemer (5-1).

The Badgers are slated to welcome Three Lakes tonight.
