Adams rocks Niagara for 35 in Knights’ win

NORWAY – Norway senior guard Lauren Adams poured in 35 points to lead the Knights to a 66-53 victory over visiting Niagara on Tuesday.
Adams scored 13 of her points in the second quarter when UPSSA Division 4 fifth-ranked Norway turned a 12-11 deficit after one period into a 38-23 lead at halftime.
Then after the Lady Badgers (9-12) cut seven points off their deficit in the third quarter, Adams sank four buckets and Jordyn Moln and Paytan Carlson each hit a 3-pointer as the Knights (14-3) took charge.
Norway buried 11 3-pointers in the contest, including four from Adams, three from Moln and two each from Ashley Carlson and Paytan Carlson.
Niagara also shot well from distance, hitting six triples. Sydney Swanson connected on three, Elesia Sweig added two and Lexi Johnson contributed one.
Swanson and Alivia Kleikamp paced the Lady Badgers with 17 points each, while Sweig chipped in with 10.
The Knights are back in action tonight when they host Forest Park. Norway defeated the Lady Trojans 53-47 in the first matchup Jan. 19 in Crystal Falls.
