Carson Chrisman and Truth Setner scored 27 points each to power Florence past Niagara 73-64 in a nonconference boys basketball road win Tuesday.

The Bobcats trailed 30-21 at halftime.

“I am excited about what we displayed to get the win,” Florence coach Bryan Bomberg said. “Down nine at half, chipping away at the deficit, making defense a priority and not giving up.”

Zane Phillips led Niagara with 21 points and Brayden Bartels scored 19.

Florence improved to 6-8 overall while the Badgers dipped to 8-8.

“We have another tough game Thursday at home against Three Lakes and then play again Friday,” Bomberg said.

Niagara will host Oneida Nation tonight.

At Florence’s home game Friday against Ewen-Trout Creek, all Great Eight Winter Games participants are invited to attend wearing green and gold.

“We would love to introduce them at halftime during the varsity game,” Bomberg said.

Kingsford led 38-15 at halftime and used an 18-5 run in the third quarter to seal a victory Tuesday over West Iron County at Flivver Gym.

Jett Buckley led Kingsford with 17 points and Owen Olkkonen contributed 13. Jack Kriegl scored nine and Alex Erickson added seven. Isaac Labouef chipped in six points.

The Wykons got eight points from Seth Oberlin.

Kingsford (11-4) travels to Gladstone (11-6) for a Great Northern Conference game tonight.

West Iron (5-11) hosts Calumet (4-11) on Friday.
