Bobcats outscore Wildcats
Florence gave up 48 points in the second half but managed a 100-75 win at Lena in a nonconference boys basketball game Monday.
The Bobcats led 60-27 at halftime.
“We started off pretty solid, making board play and defense a priority,” said Florence coach Bryan Bomberg. “Once we got a lead, it turned into no defense and quick-shooting. Thankfully, we shot the ball well … we’ll never take a win for granted.”
Florence had five players hit double figures, led by Bowen Spears with 33 and Truth Setner with 32. Promice Setner contributed 13 points and Bradly Steber and Kade Larson netted 10 apiece. Carter Reed added two points.
The Bobcats hit eight treys — four by Truth Setner, two by Spears and one each by Promice Setner and Larson.
The Wildcats (5-13) got 23 points from Lucas Mongiat and 19 from Dash Comins.
Florence (8-9) plays at North Central tonight, then travels to Three Lakes for a Northern Lakes Conference game Thursday.
