The Iron Mountain wrestling team had a strong showing at the MHSAA district tournament held Saturday in Manistique, with three athletes advancing to regionals.

DiAngelo Saldana dominated the 144-pound weight class, winning all of his matches in impressive fashion on his way to a first-place finish. He sealed the championship with a commanding 13-3 victory in the finals.

Connor Maynard earned a third-place finish, pinning two of his opponents in the first period to secure his regional berth.

Cameron Gartland battled his way to the finals and finished second overall, earning his spot at regionals after a hard-fought day on the mat.

All three wrestlers will travel to Charlevoix on Saturday to compete in the MHSAA Division 4 regional tournament.
