Knights take revenge on Stephenson
STEPHENSON – In the first matchup between Norway and Stephenson this season, the Eagles nipped the Knights by three points on Jan. 16 in Norway.
The second contest couldn’t have been much different. The Knights jumped on Stephenson early with a 21-4 first quarter and never looked back in their 53-25 triumph.
With the win, Norway improves to 10-7 overall and 3-2 in the Skyline Central Conference-Large. The Knights hold a half-game lead over Bark River-Harris in the league race.
Kaleb LaPine scored seven points, while Owen Baij and Noah Pearson added five each during the opening eight minutes. LaPine added seven more points in the second when Norway tightened its grip on the game and headed into halftime with a 36-11 advantage.
The Knights took a 47-19 lead into the fourth. Both teams finished with six points in the final quarter.
LaPine led all scorers with 19 points. Baij added 11, Pearson had eight and Anthony Pineda finished with seven.
The Knights held the Eagles (10-5, 2-3) to just eight field goals made.
Norway will stay on the road with a Tuesday matchup at Carney-Nadeau (6-10).
