KHS girls earn All-GNC honors

Kingsford junior Alyvia Kowalski and sophomore Aubrie Moore received Great Northern Conference girls basketball first team honors in awards announced this week.

Kowalski was also named to the defensive team, joined by senior teammate Cassie Olson, a second-team All-Conference selection.

Kingsford’s Avery Edwards, a sophomore, earned honorable mention All-Conference.

Gladstone senior Lillie Johnson was named Player of the Year as well as Defensive Player of the Year. Andy Cretens of 8-0 conference champion Gladstone was named Coach of the Year.

Joining Kowalski and Moore on the first team were Gladstone junior Ava Pankonien, Menominee senior Lexi Marineau and Marquette freshman Avery Osborne.

Other members of the defensive team were Gladstone senior Addy Blowers, Marquette senior Lexi Curran and Menominee senior Richele Milostan.

Olson was joined on the second team by Menominee senior Gianna Coduti, Menominee freshman Reese Linsmeier, Marquette senior Lexi Curran and Marquette junior Addi Kramer.

Gladstone senior Addy Blowers and Escanaba senior Landry Bray earned special mention.

Kingsford was the junior varsity conference winner with a 6-1 record.
