FELCH TOWNSHIP – The North Dickinson Nordics hit 12 3-pointers, including four in the decisive third quarter, to blitz Munising and capture the MHSAA District 100 title with a 78-42 triumph on Friday at Carl F. Lemin Gymnasium.

Tyler Fleming sank two triples, while Jason Graham and Spencer Kramer recorded one each as the UPSSA Division 4 fourth-ranked Nordics increased their lead from 35-23 at halftime to 60-30 heading into the fourth.

The third quarter not only decided the game, but it was during that period that Spencer Kramer put his name in the ND basketball history annuals by scoring his 1,000th point.

The Nordics (20-3) grabbed a 19-11 lead after the first quarter and then outscored Munising 16-12 to head into the locker room up by 12.

After the explosion in the third, ND finished the game off with an 18-12 final quarter.

Fleming led four Nordics in double figures with 18 points. Trenton Kramer and Spencer Kramer finished with 13 each and Brady Jungwirth posted 11.

Trenton Kramer and Ty King led ND in rebounds with 13 apiece, while Jungwirth recorded a team-high six assists and added five rebounds.

Dylan Adkinson paced Munising (6-14) with 21.

With their victory, the Nordics advance to the MHSAA Regional 25 semifinals where they will meet top-ranked Forest Park (19-4) on Tuesday at Kingsford High School. The teams split their two regular-season games – North Dickinson defeated Forest Park 57-55 in Crystal Falls on Jan. 20 and the Trojans whipped the Nordics 77-39 on Feb 2 at NDHS.
