Gladstone’s Johnson named UP Miss Basketball
Adams, Moore are first-team picks

Gladstone senior Lillie Johnson was named Upper Peninsula Miss Basketball in awards announced by the U.P. Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.
Johnson, a University of Wisconsin-Green Bay recruit, was also named Division 1-3 Player of the Year. Ishpeming senior Jenessa Eagle, who has committed to Michigan Tech, was selected Player of the Year in Division 4.
Aubrie Moore, a Kingsford sophomore, was named to the Division 1-3 first team in the All-U.P. voting. Norway’s Lauren Adams was a first-team pick in Division 4.
Second-team honors in Division 1-3 went to Kingsford’s Cassie Olson, a senior, and Alyvia Kowalski, a junior, along with West Iron County sophomore Bristol Shamion.
In Division 4, Forest Park senior Elsie Williams and North Central sophomore Addison Otradaveck were named to the second team.

Earning special mention in Division 4 were Forest Park sophomore Audrey Williams and North Dickinson sophomore Allyson Steinbrecher. Three North Dickinson players received honorable mention in Division 4 — sophomore Aspen Anderson, senior Raina Ledzian and junior Ava Oman. They were joined by North Central freshman Autumn Triest and Forest Park juniors Tessa Bartozek and Vienna Price.
Negaunee was selected Team of the Year in Division 1-2. The Division 3 Team of the Year was Menominee while state champion Ishpeming collected the Division 4 honor.
Johnson and Eagle were joined on the All-U.P. Dream Team by Ewen-Trout Creek sophomore Bree Besonen, Ishpeming senior Mya Hemmer and Negaunee junior Gretel Johnson.
