Coleman scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning and defeated Niagara 12-11 in an M & O Conference softball opener Thursday.

The visiting Badgers (1-1) totaled 22 hits but didn’t score after building an 11-7 lead in the top of the fifth.

Zowie Loukus collected five singles to the lead the Niagara offense. Grace Payette, Paige Guardiola and Sienna Larock all had three hits apiece and Shelby Zittlow smacked two doubles.

Elesia Sweig and Guardiola shared the mound duties.

“Every player in the lineup did their part and put the bat on the ball,” said Badgers coach Emily Payette. “We have a few things we need to work on and errors to clean up,” she added.
